Eastern Region Scout Camp - 2010

The Eastern Regional camp was held from 2^nd to 5^th September 2010 in Batticaloa, Organized by Batticaloa YMCA on behalf of The National Council of YMCA's of Sri Lanka.Sixty scouts from the YMCAs of Batticaloa, Kalmunai Kallar, Mandur and Thuraineelavanai and their leaders (12) participated.

We, the Scout Leaders at the Sri Lanka YMCA are pleased to present the following pages giving news on Scouting Activities of our troops. The YMCA movement in Sri Lanka was started 129 years ago in 1882 and now has spread to 38 locations around the country.

Scouting was part of the Y movement from the beginning. However, in recent years it has received new vigor and dynamism with the support of local leadership and overseas partners.

This blog was launched to create a link and partnership between scouting movements of the world. As such, you are welcomed to contribute news on your programmes / activities and importantly, share ideas and experiences.
